Georgia HOSA Dance Policy
Attending the HOSA dance is a privilege, not a right. If any delegate violates the dance code policy, they will be asked to leave. Any advisor can ask a student to leave. We are working diligently to ensure that our HOSA dance is a positive, successful social function for our students. Please take the time to discuss the dance guidelines with your students before attending the conference. If your students know that you support the guidelines, they will be much more likely to have a positive attitude. Thanks for your support.
To be allowed any exception to wearing business attire or the official HOSA uniform, the students must abide by the following:
- Students must wear a HOSA t-shirt from their local chapter or from previous HOSA conferences. They may not tie the shirt around their waist or shoulders. Requiring students to wear a HOSA shirt helps us identify quickly whether or not the student is a HOSA student. It helps us keep guests who are not HOSA members from attending our dances.
- If a student does not have a HOSA shirt, they must wear the official HOSA uniform or business attire.
- Students may wear clean jeans– no holes or cuts in them which shows skin. No underwear or midriffs showing at any time. Students are not allowed to roll up the pant legs on their jeans.
- No Capri’s, no cut off jeans, no shorts allowed.
- Students must wear their HOSA conference name badge where it can be easily read. Students must turn in their signed dance policy form to enter the dance. No form, no entry.
- Upon entering each student’s hand will be stamped for re-entry.
- Advisors – If you have students at the dance, you MUST attend with them.
- Sexually explicit dancing also known as “dirty dancing”, “freaking”, or “sandwich dancing” is not permitted. Any dance simulating sexual moves is not allowed.
- Students are not allowed to sit on other students shoulders.
- At the discretion of the HOSA advisors, chaperones, and/or security, any student failing to abide by the dance guidelines or showing disrespect will be asked to leave the dance.
