Chapter Name: Greenbrier High School HOSA
Chapter Officers and Titles: Morgan Vaughn / Maggie Holt co-presidents
Advisor Name: Suzanne Adams
Event Name: “Wear Pink” Day to promote October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2008
Description of Event:
Greenbrier High School HOSA promotes October 1, 2008 as “Wear Pink” Day to kick off the month of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The first school day in October was established as “Wear Pink” Day in 2006. Greenbrier students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear as much pink as possible. Each year we have expanded to promote the awareness and importance of early detection of this disease. Pink ribbons are handmade and delivered to faculty and staff members by HOSA members the morning of “Wear Pink” Day. HOSA also encourages all applicable faculty, staff, and community members to receive a regular screening mammogram by scheduling their yearly appointment with the University Hospital Mobile Mammography Unit here at the Greenbrier Campus on November 14, 2008.

Georgia HOSA is embarking on a new tradition for our new website! We want to recognize the chapters that are active in their community by putting them on the Georgia HOSA Website; one every two weeks. There is no requirement of what type of activity it may be, but it has to be involving your local chapter of HOSA. The event must have taken place during this school year, 2007-2008.
