Chapter Spotlight: Celebrate NCCA HOSA Day

The Newton College and Career Academy HOSA Chapter, Located in Covington, Georgia, was recently recognized with an official proclamation from the Mayor of Covington for an outstanding amount of community service around the city! Mayor Steve Horton and the Covington City Council proclaimed Monday, May 24, 2021, as “Newton College and Career Academy HOSA Appreciation Day” in the City of Covington! The 2020-2021 school year was a difficult school year for all students. However, the members of NCCA HOSA, like all HOSA members, pushed through and continued to serve! Over the course of the 2021 school year, NCCA HOSA was able to participate in dozens of community events, earning its members a total of 230+ service hours. Because of the amount and quality of service that NCCA HOSA provided to its community, the Mayor and City Council of Covington recognized NCCA HOSA with an official proclamation.

The Mayor invited the student and advisor leadership of NCCA HOSA to the May 17th City Council meeting where he and the City Council presented the proclamation. NCCA HOSA also met with the Superintendent of Newton County Schools for a photo-op and congratulated them on their remarkable achievement. As this school year comes to a close, NCCA HOSA is grateful to its advisors, chapter president, student officers, and members for all of their hard work and commitment to HOSA and its core values.
