Chapter Spotlight: Harris County High School
Harris County High School, HOSA partnered with the West Georgia Department of Public Health to administer the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, October 7, 2021. This opportunity was available to Harris County School District students (12 years old and up), employees, employee spouses, and parents/guardians. This event was the first optional offering to the students and took place in the High School Auditorium. Mahi Patel (Co-President, HCHS HOSA), and 2 members, Reece Schoenberger and Reese Moss assisted the health department nurses by registering and directing the students through the vaccination process. After receiving the vaccine, the students monitored the recipients for any reactions or complications. The DPH was very appreciative of the girls help and the support and comfort they provided for the high school students that were apprehensive. This was a wonderful learning experience, seeing public health in action!
