Chapter Spotlight: Loganville High School- The Giving Tree
In December, Loganville High School HOSA sets up a Christmas tree in the front lobby of our school. It has numbered ornaments on it for students to choose from, and each one represents a resident in a nursing home. Students bring in donations to give to the nursing home, so the residents have Christmas gifts and a heartwarming surprise. These can be anything from perfume to blankets to books. This year, we sent over 250 gift packages that contained three items each. For some residents, these are the only gifts they receive, and the smallest gift can be an invaluable surprise. Most years, HOSA members are able to visit and hand-deliver the gifts, but unfortunately, we could not go visit in person due to COVID. This year, however, the class made a video to wish them all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
