Chapter Spotlight: Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy: Miracle Field

The Mission Statement for Miracle Field is to provide children and adults with mental and physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball.  To value and include children and adults with special needs, regardless of ability, in team play. And, to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and community involvement.

HOSA members volunteered as “buddies” for two Thursday evening games.  They were assigned to assist the players in hitting the ball, running the bases, and protecting them in the field.  Best of all in the Miracle League, every player gets a hit, every player scores a run, and both teams always win!  This is a favorite activity of NWGCCA HOSA as students learn the value of compassion and joy as they serve their community.
