It’s truly something to be able to convene in the Capitol of our great nation with HOSA Leaders from across the nation, to learn and grow as leaders in an ever-evolving, ever-diversifying organization that stands at the forefront in the bridging of leadership and quality health science education. WLA features dynamic workshops and interactive activities to teach HOSA leaders to be better advocates of HOSA’s mission and vision. This action-packed experience is the highest level of leadership development for HOSA-Future Health Professionals. In short, it is Officer Jumpstart but conducted by national officers. Our state officers and several members had the opportunity to attend the 14th Annual WLA.

State officers were not only given the opportunity to get once-in-a- lifetime leadership experience, but were also given the opportunity to explain to US Representative on the importance of HOSA to themselves and members all around. By spreading awareness and the needs of HOSA as a name brand organization, the State Officers were able to expand their network and developed public speaking skills. Along with speaking to Representatives, State Officers and Local Officers participated in team building exercises with other State Officers and Local Officers. After a fun day filled with Leadership exercises, the Officers got the opportunity to explore the historic beauty of Washington, D.C through the Twilight Tour.
