With expert faculty, academic support, student housing and myriad extracurricular organizations on campus, undergraduate students at LIFE have all the resources available to be successful in their studies and careers.

LIFE’s 17:1 student-to-faculty ratio and unique educational environments allow students to receive one-on-one mentorship from thought leaders in intimate classroom settings. When our students graduate, they are better equipped to make an impact in others’ lives, their community and the world. See all of our options below:

A.S. AND B.S. COMPUTER

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Students who pursue our degrees in Computer Information Management will learn the skills needed to make a positive impact on society and businesses using technology. CIM students at LIFE learn hands-on skills that transform them from computer users into technology developers, creating web and software solutions that make organizations and customers more productive, connected and satisfied.

A.S. HEALTH AND WELLNESS (ONLINE & ON CAMPUS)

LIFE’s Health and Wellness associate degree program is designed for individuals who wish to take part in America’s cultural change toward sustainable health choices and wellness- centered lifestyles. Upon completion of this degree’s requirements, graduates will be prepared to seek employment with recreational and health club facilities; community or corporate wellness programs; or pursue independent contracting. Alternatively, graduates may choose to continue their education through various professional certifications and advanced degree programs.

B.S. BIOLOGY

(ONLINE & ON CAMPUS)

LIFE’s curriculum is grounded in a philosophy that is deeply respectful of the innate intelligence of life – the ability of all organisms to be conscious, self-developing, self-maintaining and self-healing. Students will not only develop a solid knowledge base in the foundations of biology, but they will also cultivate a sense of respect and responsibility for our human role in understanding and influencing both our own living bodies and our place in the world. LIFE works closely with our biology students in their pursuit of advanced educational endeavors or STEM career pathways.

B.S. BIOPSYCHOLOGY

Students interested in exploring the complex interdependencies between mind and body and using their knowledge to improve individual and group function should consider LIFE’s bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology. Interdisciplinary coursework will explore and challenge our collective knowledge of fundamental biopsychological concepts regarding bases of behavior, emotion and cognition and their relation to health. Future professions for graduates frequently involve applying this knowledge of physiology and psychology to issues of drug use and abuse, motivation, sleep patterns and more. Students are also prepared to take on graduate work in fields such as Chiropractic, medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychology or neuroscience.

B.B.A. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

LIFE’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students begin their academic journey by mastering a foundation in the overarching concepts of business, principles of management and leadership. As the student progresses through the BBA degree program, they will engage in courses in the area of accounting, economics, marketing, finance, business law, human resource management, organizational behavior, ethics, social change/non-profit, diversity, social media marketing and sports management – all with a focus on socially responsible business philosophy. BBA students can complete their program by selecting an area of interest in additional business-related coursework, or they have the potential for a business internship with an established business.

B.S. CULINARY NUTRITION

Culinary nutrition is an exciting interdisciplinary, research-based field with biochemical underpinnings that allows culinary professionals to create artfully-designed recipes. LIFE’s bachelor’s degree in Culinary Nutrition prepares students to respect food and the food system as will be able to merge culinary nutrition expertise with traditional business skills, such as entrepreneurship and technical writing, to lead the growing field that uses food restoratively and therapeutically to promote vibrant health and flavorful cuisine.

B.S. DIETETICS

As a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics major at LIFE, a student will study in a highly competitive program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), an agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, alongside students and faculty who share their passion. Through classroom, kitchen lab and field training, LIFE’s dietetics majors are prepared to earn their Registered Dietitian credentials and may work as clinical health professionals in hospitals, nursing care facilities, correctional facilities and outpatient settings, as well as in consultation with individual patients.

B.S. EXERCISE SCIENCE

LIFE’s Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science prepares graduates for rewarding careers in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, sport injury management, health promotion, corporate fitness, and community-based fitness and wellness programs. Students will receive the highest-quality education and technical instruction in the disciplines of anatomy, biology, biochemistry, physiology and kinesiology, and they will apply this knowledge to a range of populations. They also learn to work with the body as an innately intelligent organism and to care for athletes and community members through the LIFE Sport Science Institute (LSSI); our public clinic, Center for Health and Optimum Performance (C-HOP); and in a variety of internship/externship or practicum settings.

B.S. HEALTH COACHING

Unlike health educators who typically provide information for patients to use on their own, health coaching uses a more interactive consultation model with the coach and patient working together. A LIFE Health Coaching graduate works closely with patients to gain a deeper understanding of their conditions and master the skills needed to persist and succeed with a prescribed healthcare regimen. Health coaches help people interact most effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of clinical specialists, identify providers with appropriate expertise, communicate with clinicians and advocate on the patient’s behalf.

B.S. HUMAN ECOLOGY

LIFE’s Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology strives to advance methods by which sustainability could be achieved. Human Ecology majors may focus on either People, Politics and Social Change (PPSC) or Science, Sustainability and Resource Management (SSRM). While many large, public universities that offer a B.S. in Human Ecology have lecture-driven classes seating hundreds of students, that is not the case at LIFE. Here, the classes are small with a focus on engaged and active learning, which includes team activities, one-on-one interaction with faculty and hands-on experience on and off campus.

B.S. INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES (ONLINE ONLY)

LIFE Interdisciplinary Studies graduates are employed in nearly every profession ranging from business, sales, journalism, marketing and social service to entry-level positions in health and wellness and law. Interdisciplinary Studies provides a breadth of knowledge that is particularly advantageous in our increasingly complex and rapidly changing world. The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree equips students with the communication expertise, critical thinking abilities and worldview that translate into transferable skills valued by all employers, and that can also easily be transferred to the pursuit of one of LIFE’s three master’s degree programs.

B.S. NUTRITION

LIFE’s Nutrition Department is built on a neo- vitalistic view that what we eat can affect the entirety of our health. This applies to dealing with an illness, trying to live a healthier lifestyle, maximizing physical performance or simply cooking balanced meals for the week. The Department boasts six state-of-the-art teaching kitchens where students receive hands-on training. Students also enjoy live demonstrations in a culinary amphitheater where instructors model concepts taught in class. Students will be prepared for success by connecting classroom theory with real-world practice in field rotations in the community and interacting with patients and clients. Graduates from the program will leave with

an understanding of how quality nutrition can improve people’s lifelong health and performance.

B.S. PSYCHOLOGY

(ONLINE & ON CAMPUS)

In addition to incorporating LIFE’s vitalistic philosophy, our psychology majors are taught to emphasize the inborn human capacities for love, courage, forgiveness, wisdom and interpersonal connection. Along with scientific study, these principles are woven throughout all coursework and culminate in real-life applications through either an internship or a senior thesis experience. Our psychology programs, both on-campus and online, don’t simply equip students with the traditional knowledge and tools of the trade. LIFE students also become passionate, lifelong learners and innovators who never underestimate the power of the human mind, body and spirit to overcome, adapt and transform.
